2024 Annual Conference

President's Corner

A Year to be Driven

The Michigan Women in Finance Board will ignite the Conference with our annual networking event at The Henry Ford Museum on Thursday, May 16 at 6:30 p.m. The museum opened on October 21, 1929, as its namesake's effort to display the history of industry and "give people a true picture of the development of the country." The museum has a collection of artifacts from 300 years of American history, with famous exhibits such as the Dymaxion House and Presidential Vehicles.

We will then shift gears to the Conference, which will be held on Friday, May 17, at 7:45 a.m. at The Henry Autograph Collection. The hotel is named in honor of the United States veteran Henry Dearborn. The building features stunning and vibrant art throughout, from the lobby to the track-lit main hallway and even the halls on the guest floors. You'll see works from some of the greatest artists to ever live, including Picasso, Chagall, Rembrandt, and Renoir, as well as the best artists of our time, such as Peter Max, Alfred Gockel, and Yaacov Agam.

To be driven is to be "relentlessly compelled by the need to accomplish a goal" and "very hard-working and ambitious." As I reflect upon our board, membership, and conference speakers, no theme could more perfectly capture the essence of this event.

Our annual Conference is only possible with the generosity of our sponsors and the strength of our membership. I thank all of you for your commitment to Michigan Women in Finance, and we look forward to another year full of conversation, connections, and camaraderie.

I can't wait to see you in Dearborn!
