Background

Michigan Women in Finance is a nonprofit, educational and professional networking organization for Michigan women in the finance industry that was founded in 2002. Participants in our organization include state and local government issuers, investment bankers, attorneys, financial advisors, rating agency personnel, bond insurers, and trust officers, among others. Each year, Michigan Women in Finance hosts a networking event as well as a two-day conference to bring together these women professionals for an educational and networking forum.

About the Board

Michigan Women in Finance is governed by a voluntary Board of Directors made up of women of diverse backgrounds in various public finance professions. Each Director serves for a three-year term, and each year the then-current Board elects new Directors to replace Directors whose terms are ending that year. As the Board is a working Board, Directors are expected to commit time to Board activities, including participation in one or more Board meetings each month, serving on several Board committees, and participating actively in the annual Michigan Women in Finance Conference and the networking event.
