THE BEGINNINGS

Michigan Women in Finance

In 2002 several savvy, smart, accomplished women met for lunch. We discussed the need for greater opportunities and connections for women in finance, and how those sorts of connections would help us work more effectively, build our businesses and know-how and pool our individual talents. With that, Michigan Women in Finance was born!

Our mantra of women helping women is as relevant today as it was back then. Our community of women has given and continues to give women the potential to be heard and to influence, to lead and to support, to learn from each other and mentor new talent. The results can be seen in the sheer number of women now holding positions in finance. We believe each of us has benefited from the eminence of women in finance and in positions of authority and decision-making.

The four Co-Founders offer our sincere admiration and appreciation for Board members, sponsors, attendees, and others who have worked so very hard to build on this legacy successfully. Collectively you have made Michigan Women in Finance a force that can’t be ignored in Michigan’s financial community today. Thank you sincerely and deeply!
